Townfall is the third new Silent Hill in as many years, following the SH2 remake (2024) and Silent Hill f (2025).
It's developed by Screen Burn Interactive — the Glasgow studio formerly known as No Code — and co-published by Annapurna Interactive with Konami.
It's the first full-length Silent Hill in first person. Konami is calling it a "full-length, self-contained psychological horror" — not a spin-off, not a remake. A standalone story that only needs you to like scary games.
The project has existed in some form since the 2022 Silent Hill Transmission teaser.
It resurfaced with a full reveal at the February 2026 State of Play, got its release date in a trailer on June 2, 2026, and Konami dropped fresh gameplay footage on July 29, 2026.

Story: St. Amelia, Scotland, 1996
You play Simon Ordell, who is "called back to the island of St. Amelia to put things right."
The island sits under a heavy, permanent fog — the Scottish "haar" that rolls in from the North Sea. Konami's pitch: a town "seemingly abandoned but not at rest," where reality and delusion intertwine.
A nurse named Zoe (at the local family clinic) appears in the supporting cast. The full story cast is still being kept under wraps.
What we know: it's a story about memory, loss, and consequence — Simon confronting fragments of a past that keeps rising to the surface. It's the most personal Silent Hill setup since 2003's Silent Hill 3.
Gameplay: First-Person Horror With a Pocket TV
Townfall's hook is the CRTV — a portable pocket television that replaces the iconic radio. Tune it and you pick up:
- Threats nearby — static and signals warn you before you see them
- Story fragments — analog transmissions piece the plot together
- Clues — narrative puzzles are driven by what you tune in
Combat is a deliberate blend: melee weapons you can swing and block with, plus firearms for range.
Evasion is tense — the marketing language keeps saying "frenetic." This isn't SH2's sometimes-derided combat; it's a survival-horror shooter that expects you to fight back, but carefully.
The game is driven by narrative puzzles and promises multiple endings shaped by your actions — a Silent Hill staple that the studio has confirmed.
Sound, PS5 Features, and Polish
The soundtrack is by Pilotpriest, and it's dynamic — the music "builds and twists with player and enemy actions." Given Silent Hill's musical pedigree, this is a bigger deal than it sounds.
PS5 owners get the full DualSense treatment: adaptive triggers and haptics tuned to the CRTV, plus motion controls. The PS5 version is also PS5 Pro Enhanced.
On PC, it runs on Unreal Engine 5 with DLSS, FSR, and XeSS upscaling.
